Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care
This qualification is designed for learners wishing to develop their understanding of the safe
handling of medicines. They may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progress to further qualifications, or learners who wish to study this programme to complement other studies.

Do I need any qualifications to start a course?
No, you do not need any previous qualifications to be accepted onto the course.
How much does the course cost?
These qualifications are FREE if you are over 16 years old (18 for Medication course), live in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough, and are in receipt of Universal Credit or other benefits.
How long is the course and how long will it take me to complete it?
Each qualification is different but you should be able to complete a course in less than 8 weeks.
What support will I get during my course?
The programme will consist of Tutor Led and e-Learning sessions. You will need to meet the deadlines set by your Tutor to enable you to complete the course.
Your Tutor is available to offer support by telephone, email, or video calls so please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to have a chat about anything you are finding difficult.As part of the course, you will work on an Individual Learning Programme where you and your Tutor will record your work.
How will my work be assessed?
Your Tutor will assess and feedback on your assignments and advise if you have passed each section of the workbook or whether you need to revisit any questions.
There are no exams.
Eligibility
The courses are available to adults over the age of 16 who live in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough and are in receipt of Universal Credit or other benefits.
